# Inkable Docs for Claude

Check PDF, Word (DOCX), and PowerPoint (PPTX) files for accessibility. Remediate DOCX and PPTX files and download the updated file. Inkable preserves the original document and reports remaining issues and warnings. PDF remediation is currently unsupported.

## Connect

1. In Claude, open **Customize → Connectors** and browse the connector directory.
2. Search for **Inkable**, open its listing, and choose **Connect** or **Install**.
3. Follow the setup prompts, then enable Inkable in the conversation where you want to use it.

On a Team or Enterprise workspace, an owner may need to enable Inkable for your organization first. See [Claude's connector setup guide](https://support.claude.com/en/articles/11176164-use-connectors-to-extend-claude-s-capabilities) for help finding or enabling a connector.

You can try two accessibility checks per anonymous session without an Inkable account. Claude will ask you to sign in to Inkable for further checks or any Word/PowerPoint fixes. Follow the sign-in prompt and approve the requested access to continue. Retrieving a report does not use another free check, and your earlier anonymous reports remain accessible after sign-in. A new anonymous session restarts the free allowance; separate usage limits also apply.

## Before you start

Enable **code execution and file creation** in Claude so it can transfer your attached files. If your workspace restricts network access, ask an administrator to allow HTTPS access to `eeb9ee37eeb0f51dd04a152426c37fee.r2.cloudflarestorage.com`, the storage host used for file transfers. Claude Code and Cowork use their available file and network tools.

## Use

- Attach the original PDF, DOCX, or PPTX (up to 50 MiB) and ask: “Use Inkable to check this file for accessibility.”
- For an editable document, ask: “Use Inkable to remediate this DOCX” or “Use Inkable to remediate this PPTX.”
- If processing is queued or running, ask for the status later. Inkable only presents final scores once processing completes.
- Ask Inkable to retrieve the updated file when remediation finishes. Download links last ten minutes; ask again for a fresh link if one expires.

## How file transfer works

Inkable first prepares a temporary upload. Claude uses code execution to upload the original binary bytes to the returned URL, then passes the upload token to the selected tool. Files are not reconstructed from extracted text. Completed remediation returns a download URL that Claude can save as a file or share directly.

The temporary upload URL expires after ten minutes; its processing token expires after thirty minutes. Staged uploads are removed by the private bucket's one-day lifecycle. Processing sources expire after two hours. Reports and updated files expire after thirty days. Upload tokens and download links grant access to their individual files, so keep them private.

Inkable uses its shared accessibility engines, including AI-assisted analysis where applicable. A completed remediation may retain findings that require manual review; review the reported warnings and remaining checks. The original attachment is preserved.

## Troubleshooting

- If file transfer fails, check code execution and network access, then request a new upload.
- If an upload token expires or you switch between Inkable accounts, upload the file again. A private anonymous upload can finish after the same conversation signs in.
- If a check or remediation fails, ask Inkable for its reported error and retry with the original file.
- If a download expires, retrieve the remediation again for a fresh link.
