Inkable Docs offers HIPAA support by arrangement on Ink Team. Check and improve the accessibility of documents containing protected health information (PHI) through an agreed workflow and Business Associate Agreement (BAA).

How covered workflows handle data
Your agreement identifies the supported integrations, document types, and AI services. The required configuration is confirmed before PHI processing begins.
BAA-covered processing
Document processing and AI services must be covered by the required BAAs. The agreed configuration uses encryption and restricted access.
Results under your control
For approved Google Workspace workflows, original files and exported reports stay in your organization's Google Drive, with access and retention managed by your organization.
Content kept out of routine records
Covered workflows exclude document content from routine application logs, dashboards, and notification emails. Content caching is disabled.
Agreed retention and deletion
Temporary processing copies are removed after completion. The applicable BAA and Data Processing Agreement (DPA) define retention and deletion requirements for the covered workflow.

HIPAA support questions
- Is HIPAA support included with every subscription?
- HIPAA support is available by arrangement on Ink Team. An Ink Team subscription alone does not enable PHI processing. Your organization needs an executed BAA with Inkable and confirmation that the agreed workflow and required configuration are enabled.
- Can AI be used with documents containing PHI?
- Yes, within an approved HIPAA workflow. Only eligible AI services covered by the required BAAs and configured with the agreed data controls may process PHI. The approved services are confirmed during setup.
- Does the arrangement cover every Inkable integration?
- Coverage is specific to the integrations, document types, features, and service providers identified in your agreement. Confirm your intended workflow with Inkable before submitting PHI.
- What does our organization remain responsible for?
- Your organization manages authorized users, access to its workspace and reports, and its own HIPAA obligations. Inkable's responsibilities and the covered processing are set out in the applicable agreement.
- Can we review more detailed security information?
- Yes. Contact us for architecture, data-handling, and service-provider information relevant to your proposed workflow as part of your security or procurement review.
